The literal God–
“I don’t know why God is doing this, but I’m sure there’s a reason.” Jay Hewitt, WVU point guard, on losing to Marshall, WVU’s 8th straight loss.
“I keep thinking somebody doesn’t want me to play in these games. But my God is bigger, I guess.” Kurt Warner, St. Louis Rams QB.
“We believe the Lord brought us here for a purpose. Nothing that the other side tries to do can stop that.”
A TV preacher on sending him your money— “It’s the circumcision of your financial life. It’s like cutting away the excess skin”
I drove and Kate Long wrote—-We saw a church sign that said “Is prayer you’re steering wheel or your spare tire?”

What is your point? I feel you are making statements that are open ended.
There is no point, just quotes I found interesting.
there is a point. does god or gods take sides in ball games?
The one true God can certainly be directive in the life of individuals. This would include ball players who depend on him for wisdom and direction. I really don’t think God is concerned with what team wins the game. Mike Matheny is a great example of a Christian baseball player. Mike has been our friend for many years and a true example of a Christian witness. Don’t believe God is up there deciding who is going to win all the games. The players are not puppets, but individual who make decisions on their own. Many of these decisions are the result of training, experience, wisdom, prayer and determination. Some will pause to thank God and others will take full credit for themselves.
Which of the many possibilities is the one true god? The Moslems say it is their guy.
There are many gods that people worship, but the only God of Christianity is Jesus, God and Holy Spirit that makes the Trinity. He is considered the only God that loved us, came to earth as a baby, grew to adult and gave His life for us. He loves us and want the best for us. A person needs to get to know Him through reading the Bible and hearing true ministers deliver the Word. Once you accept Him as your Savior, He will be with you and guide you through this troubled world.
